On the Eve of these most momentous meetings
There is no nobler calling than to help your fellow man. There is no more humbling a task than to give of your self to benefit others. That being said, it is NOT important to know WHO BOZOMEDIC is. BOZOMEDIC is not a man who says “follow me”!, “Look at me and what I can do for you!”. BOZOMEDIC wants you to follow YOUR gut, follow YOUR dreams and follow YOUR instincts. But BEWARE that your dreams, instincts and gut may sometimes mislead you, so don’t ever ignore the thoughts or ideas of others.
No matter what the outcome, if you never see another raise or get a 1000% raise, if you start caring more for one another, then BOZOMEDIC’S efforts were not in vain. If you stop your fellow medic from taking some step that may get them in trouble BEFORE they take it, then BOZOMEDIC’S efforts were not in vain. If you take your job more seriously and become more professional DESPITE the ignorance of those who are above you, then BOZOMEDIC’S efforts were not in vain. If you emerge from this not as a stronger Union, but as a UNIFIED group of men and women, then BOZOMEDIC’S efforts were not in vain.
Be UNIFIED and UNITED against the common enemies of: Ignorance, Apathy, and Divisiveness. Regardless of what Union you are a part of, if you are not FIRST united together as a group, then NO bargaining entity can help you, and you become YOUR OWN worst enemy.
Are you your Union Brother’s keeper? Yes you are! Your job IS more than just a paycheck. While you are here, make a difference. Make a difference, not just with your patient care, but with your patience with one another. Raise your fellow medic UP, and don’t put him DOWN. You are successful not when you bring others down to make YOURSELF seem more elevated, but when you elevate those around you and put them first BEFORE yourself.
Your Union has enough to worry about than how they can get YOU out of trouble for something you did to YOURSELF. Don’t become a problem, but be a part of the solution. Be an ASSET to the Cause, NOT a liability. Don’t just point your finger at others, but start with looking at yourself and others will follow your example.
BOZOMEDIC must leave you now. But I leave you with these words from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
“He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land.”
Yes, get to YOUR “promised land” of Unity and Cohesiveness. Follow no man blindly, and blind no one to the ideas of others. I know you will make BOZOMEDIC proud.
On the Eve of these most momentous meetings, remember to ask the tough questions, but be prepared for the tough answers. Conduct yourselves as the professional men and women that you are. These meetings are what YOU make them. Stay relentless, and keep your elected members in check.
BOZOMEDIC SALUTES YOU!! SEMPER FI! Carry On!
