There's a ton of training available right now. Some of the courses are being taught by the Feds and others by local instructors. Anyone interested in classes, contact Captain Harris at the Fire Training Academy on Warren Ave. (Medic 7's quarters.)

There are some weapons of mass destruction classes, radiological classes, low angle rope rescue and a couple of classes that will help you get your State fire service intstructor certifications. You can contact Captain Harris at the Fire Academy for more information or K.P. up at EMS training.

Also, I believe the cost is $150.00 for these classes. They include some train the trainer stuff that has some prerequisites. There is also a AHLS course in there too (advanced hazmat life support). that cost covers as many of those classes that you want to take and all monies are refundable through tuition reimbursement through the department.

Yeah cause we really gotta worry about those weapons of mass destruction since we found that stock pile in Iraq! :jester: Sorry just kidding and I am in no way an anti war freak. Hey if you can't laugh at a situation then you are screwed sometimes. :toothy9:

The cost is $150.00. That cost is set for registering AFTER May 13th.

Here is the link to a site that will assist you with obtaining some of your pre-requisites to take the major courses.

There is no cost for taking these classes. They are offered at no charge by the Feds and sponsered by Texas A&M Unversity and can be taken on line. Within 14 days of successful completion, you will recieve your certifications.

Anytime brother! I should be getting my 3 certificates from the classes I took through them. Be advised, you may have to download the HAZMAT guide via .pdf file for some of the modules for those on line courses.

For those interested, there are MANY classes offered on line through FEMA. The link is www.fema.gov

There are many courses available offered in ICS and several other courses.
Also, some of these courses are sponsered by The National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg. There are EMS driven courses offered as well...all on line.
