Hospitals across the country and here in the metro area have even tighter security after receiving
the warnings. According to officials with the Joint Commission of Accreditation, or JCAHO, fake hospital inspectors wearing badges were seen in two cases roaming the halls at 3:00 a.m.
In Detroit, at an unidentified hospital, it is reported a woman, who said she was an inspector, was found in the ER.
"When asked for some identification, (she) was very irate that someone would dare ask her for identification since she was from the joint commission," JCAHO Vice President Joe Cappiello told Action News Friday. "When that staff person turned to security to come and check this out, that woman fled."
"I would not want to say nor speculate this is some sort of terrorist activity, etcetera, and God I hope it’s not, but in this day and age you simply can’t rule that out," he added.
